This post is all about the best side hustles that pay well.
Hey guys, everyone wants to be a millionaire right? Making money is so hard these days. And think about it, we need money for pretty much everything. Bills, groceries, clothes. Wouldn’t it be nice to literally have enough money that you don’t have to worry about stuff like that?
And trust me, I have been through the days of having ramen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner cause thats all you can afford. So I GET it. I know the feeling when you open your bank account to check your balance and realize you can’t even afford a lottery ticket (Literally me last year lol).
But it does not have to be this way. Believe it or not, there’s actually easy things anyone can do and start making sweet money fast. Thats why I made this post to go through 17 millionaire side hustles to show you all the best ways you can start making sweet money fast. I hope you find all of these helpful and more!
This post shows you side hustles anyone can do.
BEST SIDE HUSTLES THAT PAY WELL
1. Start an online store
Honestly this is probably one of the best ways in general to make good money. No, this won’t happen overnight but if you think of a good product and have the right marketing, this has the most scale potential. And this can be anything too.
Maybe you just wanna sell clothes and market them to other people in your age range. Or maybe you’re super into handmade crafts and have a creative way to market them. Literally anything. The key is just finding or creating product that other people can find value in.
And yes, you can totally become a millionaire from this. There are stories all the time of people coming up with stuff like a homemade bakery chain with their grandma’s recipe that just happens to take off. Or some teen coming up with a unique app that gets bought by a bigger company. Or a little girl selling custom bracelets (like silly bands) as the new kid fashion trend.
Bottom line, think of something that other people like you would want. Chances are you can def turn it into an online store that makes significant money.
If you’re stuck on what store to do, you can try these out:
- Poshmark (This is great for selling your clothes online)
- Teespring (Awesome place to sell custom t-shirt designs)
- Amazon (Obviously this is where you can really reach people with custom products)
2. Rent your spare room on AirBnb
So obviously you need to have an apartment to do this or a home or something. But if you have a spare room, this could be a quick way for you to bring in consistent money. Lots of people have rooms they never use. (I know I do). Or maybe they’re just never home anyway. Instead of wasting that extra space, it makes way more sense to rent it out with AirBnb and start making hella money from it.
Basically AirBnb is a platform that lets you rent your home and then people who need a place to stay (that’s less “hotel-like”) will pay money to come and stay there for a bit. This isn’t like a full-on tenant living situation. Temporary.
It’s more like if you invite your friends over to stay with you cause you happen to live near the sports stadium, and they pay you to stay there out of convenience since they’re heading there tomorrow, instead of crashing for free.
Yes you kinda have to be comfortable with random people you don’t know staying in your room (or in some cases your whole house) but this is def an easy way to make tons of money. And if you’re in a popular area, you can imagine there will be tons of people wanting to stay at your place and you can replace your normal income super fast.
3. Self publish a book on Kindle
Have you ever wanted to write a book? If so, this could def be a great side hustle for you to make a lot of money. No, there’s no guarantees you’re gonna be the next JK Rowling but if you self publish you kinda don’t have to.
The key to this is picking a genre that you yourself know you love reading and then write something that you would want to read. This could be anything. Romance. Science fiction. Thrillers. Whatever you have an interest in. Then you just need to write up the story and make it a series so people get hooked.
Promote it to your friends. Share it on social media. Let them share it through word of mouth. If you write something good enough (remember something you yourself would want to read), it will take off. Think books there aren’t a lot of.
And yes, there are people making tons of money from this. I’m talking like 10s of thousands per MONTH. The most popular genre right now is romance. And you can understand why. People just love reading about love lives they wish they had. Maybe you could capitalize on that and write about your crush lol.
Even if your book flops and you only get a few sales per year, isn’t that still worth the extra cash?
4. Become a micro influencer on Insta and promote brands
Guys, I’m not kidding. This is actually becoming a thing for “normal” people. You don’t have to be famous to get a following on instagram and start making money from it. I have friends that only have a few thousand followers (pretty basic) and literally make money posting occasional ads for brands.
And dont think its super hard to get enough followers either. Think about all the places you can meet people. Maybe you’re in a sorority. A club at school. A team at your work. If you combine all those people you meet and follow each other, you can easily get a sizable following.
Brands are super interested in working with “micro influencers” these days because they know that when you have those smaller followings that the people following you are your actual friends. So they will be even more likely to trust what you say.
Basically they ask you to recommend a product to your friends every once and a while and then they pay you for it. No you may not make as much as celebrities charge for it but you can def make some decent side cash.
5. Invest in real estate
Okay I know this sounds super hard and complicated. But once you look into it, trust me it’s really not. Most people think of real estate just for buying a house that you’re gonna live in. But you can make a ton of money fast buying homes below what they’re worth and then renting them out to others.
The key is buying properties that are selling for way less than they’re actually worth. Think places that people let go to crap and then they sell for cheap only cause they weren’t properly maintained. Then you come in, buy them for cheap, fix them up again, and boom they’re suddenly worth way more than what you paid for them. (Doesn’t that sound great??)
And then you rent them out to people needing a place to stay and charge rent slightly higher than what your mortgage is on it. That way the people who are renting it from you are literally paying your rent AND giving you a nice profit.
I swear, when I first started getting into real estate investing, I was like, why isn’t everyone doing this? I had no idea how cool it was. And they say that most millionaires own real estate. That stat exists for a reason. So def try this!
Oh and you don’t have to have a ton of money to start with to buy your first rental property. I didn’t realize this. You can pay 5% down for some places and only spend 7-10K up front to buy a 250K house. It’s insane.
6. Start a niche site and promote affiliate products
If you have a strong interest in a particular topic or know a lot about something, this could be a great side hustle for you. Maybe you’re into cats. Or you happen to really like vintage clothes. Whatever it is, you could totally turn it into a niche site and start making real money.
Basically a niche site is like website thats specifically focused on one unique topic. When people come to that website, it’s literally all on that one topic. Because of that, people tend to trust what’s on it and seek it out like a resource.
If you start writing a bunch of articles on cats that people trust and then turn around and recommend cat products that you think would be good for cat owners, people are likely to buy those products based on what you say. And if you have a deal with the company that owns the products that whenever someone buys the product from your website that you also get a cut of that money.. Boom, that’s affiliate marketing!
Of course, there’s so much to say on this but starting a niche site is def a way to make a ton of money. Some people even sell their sites after they reach a certain level of success and make a profit based on that.
7. Start a drop shipping business with Shopify
This is def one of the best side hustles on here. Basically if you don’t know what drop shipping is, it’s where you buy unbranded products from a wholesaler and then you resell them to others with custom branding as your own product. Tons of people are doing it these days and making TONS of money!
It may sound like a scam but trust me it’s not. Really its all about marketing. Imagine if you bought a random banana from the store, painted it pink, and then started reselling it to people as “Magical Pink Bananas” that make you smell better. It’s the same banana but now it has custom branding and if you’re good at marketing, you can charge a higher price for it. That’s drop shipping.
But you need to first choose the right products from the wholesaler that you wanna drop ship. Think about a generic product you can put your own spin on. Maybe some socks. Or a cleaning product. Beauty products are some of the most popular. Whatever it is, buy a few, set up your online store with a site like Shopify, and boom start selling!
And really the sky is the limit with this. I know people doing this who make well over 100K a MONTH. How insane is that? There are tons of tutorials on youtube so this is def something anyone can start.
8. Become a freelancer on Fiverr or Upwork
Do you have a skill that would be valuable to people? Maybe you’re really good at graphic design. Or you know how to code cool websites. If so, you can def market your skills to people on sites like Fiverr or Upwork and make hella side income.
Think about it. There are tons of people out there who need various things done. Small businesses that need someone to design their website. Local non profits putting together a fundraiser that need someone to draw their posters. With sites like Upwork, you can do those tasks for people and charge a nice commission.
Imagine doing like 10 of these per month on the side, charging around $100 for each project. You can see how easily you can be making 1,000 extra dollars a month. And it only goes up from there.
9. Create your own course to help people learn a skill
Are you super good at doing something? Really good at putting together outfits? Really good at drawing pictures? Really good at getting likes on Instagram? If so, why not create your own online course and make tons of money teaching other people how to do it?
There are tons of people nowadays trying to improve themselves. Trying to learn a new skill to switch jobs. Stuff for school. Or even just for fun. With sites like Skillshare or Teachable, you can put together your own course, film some mini lectures, and put them up for other people to buy.
And you might be surprised but you can make serious side income from this. Literally know people making hundreds a DAY from purchases of their courses. And these people aren’t experts either lol. They just happen to be good “enough” and took the time to put up a course showing other people how to do what they do.
Here are the best sites for creating your own online course:
10. Make money freelance writing
Now, I know this doesn’t sound particularly fun. But if you really like writing in your spare time, this could be a great way to make a lot of money. Basically you hook up with sites like Medium, write interesting articles, and then you earn money the more people that read them.
You can also make money from this by literally reaching out to publications offering your unique voice. Maybe you’re the leader of a sorority and you wanna write about that perspective for a site that doesn’t have a lot of articles on that. They can then hire you to write a post on it and boom, you just made a couple grand. From writing.. an essay. (Which you would do for FREE in school)
If you’re smart about this and choose the right people to reach out too and write good articles, you can easily see how you can make hella money doing this.
11. Become a social media consultant
If you’re always on social media like me, this side hustle might be the most perfect one on the list lol. I literally always use Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc all the time. Everyone knows that older people tend to be less familiar with these, so doesn’t it make sense that we could teach them a thing or two? Thats basically what being a social media consultant is.
These days companies know they need to be on social media to be seen. They reach out to people like us to show them how to set up facebook ads or social media marketing campaigns to actually reach people and get more followers. If you happen to know a lot about social media, you can easily market yourself to these people and charge 1-2K per client.
Yes, this is a real thing and the market is only growing for it. Imagine having like 12 clients, each paying you 1-2K to set up facebook ads for them or get decent followers for their accounts. Not hard to see how you reach millionaire status fast.
12. Start a youtube channel
I know everyone says this, but it’s true. Literally anyone can start a youtube channel and bring in a nice side income. No, there’s no guarantee your’e gonna blow up and get a trillion subscribers. But even “small” youtubers these days make enough to replace their full time jobs.
The real key to this is being yourself and being consistent. You know that saying, “there’s someone out there for everyone”. Well, when you think about the whole internet and everyone who visits youtube every minute of every day, there are a ton of “someone”s who would love to watch a channel exactly like yours. But you have to stick with it long enough for them to find you.
Also put your heart into it. Your subscribers will be able to tell if you actually like putting out content for them. You probably know this yourself. If they don’t feel like you’re putting in effort, they won’t bother checking in with you. Have that respect for them, and your channel can def take off over time.
13. Become a popular Twitch streamer
Do you like playing video games all the time? (I know there’s some hardcore gamers out there lol). If so, this could be a great side hustle for you to make easy money. Imagine playing video games all the time, literally laying on your couch and then making hundreds of dollars an hour from it. If you become a streamer on Twitch, you could literally do that!
No you’re not gonna have a crazy number of followers overnight. But there are tons of average basic people who made a Twitch, really love video games, and have attracted an audience of people who just love watching them play video games haha. I don’t really get it but Twitch has ads they put up on there. And the more followers you have, the more $$$ you make. Also people can pay to subscribe to your Twitch account as well.
I almost couldn’t believe this but there are streamers on Twitch that make $50,000 + per MONTH. Playing video games…
14. Invest in stocks & crypto currency
Okay, I had to put this on here cause really everyone should be investing at least some of their money. And if you put it in the right stocks, you can def strike it big real fast. And with sites like Robinhood and WeBull making it easy for anyone to get started these days, you really have no excuses.
Basically stocks are when you own a particular stake in a company, so if the company does better, the piece of it you bought goes up in value. This is much better than throwing into a bank account, where its actually losing money over time due to inflation. The key to picking good stocks is market research and thinking about what it’s going to be worth 30 years from now.
But if you don’t want that headache, you can also just put your money into what’s called an index fund (basically a collection of ALL the stocks). So even if one company loses money, another one is bound to be doing really well, so your total investment will stay the same.
Crypto currency is the newest form of investing. Basically it involves assets like Bitcoin, which you’ve probably heard of by now. Some people say it’s the next gold rush and will go up a bunch in value over the next several decades. If you wanna get rich by buying it cheap now, a great app to get it is called BlockFi. They will even pay you interest on the crypto you buy.
15. Start a podcast with your friends
Do you ever just love having deep conversations with your friends? Or maybe y’all like to gossip about current stuff going on. Or you yourself just have a ton of helpful advice. Whatever it is, you can def start a podcast and make sweet money on the side.
And no its not embarrassing. You can always edit out something if you think its dumb. But honestly its the dumb things you say that people will probably find entertaining anyway. You can really talk about anything. Relationship advice. Politics. Life. There are people out there who love to hear about pretty much anything.
You just gotta put some effort in and have fun with it! Then you can make money from it when companies ask you to recommend their products to your listeners. Who knows, it might even blow up cause you’re so relatable and you could be making millions of dollars a year like the top podcasts.
16. Resell your old junk
Okay so maybe this one could be a little harder to turn into a million dollars but you can def still make decent money. Let’s face it, we all have hella junk lying around. Our rooms are crusty and dirty. You probably have a ton of clothes you don’t wear or stuff that doesn’t fit you.
You may think it’s junk now. But you know that saying: “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”? It’s so true! Instead of just throwing it out, it makes way more sense to put that stuff up on sites like eBay and make a nice profit from it.
Also a lot of times our old stuff is rare which means you can then charge more money than you actually bought it for. People go into bidding wars on eBay all the time. Imagine selling your crusty shirt that you bought for $50 and getting $500 from it because the store went out of business. Sounds amazing right?
Bottom line, this is def something everyone should be doing. There’s already way too much stuff in landfills so by selling your junk to other people, you’re actually helping the environment too lol.
17. Start an Only Fans
I feel embarrassed putting this here but guys, I couldn’t resist. We have to be honest. These days, this has def turned into a millionaire side hustle. And not just for celebrities.
A lot of people think it has to be straight up nudes or risqué photos. But you can actually make a ton of money catering to people with weird fetishes. And I don’t mean explicit stuff. Think feet pictures. I know its weird but wouldn’t it be cool to make $50 just for sending some random person a generic picture of your foot. Yes, it’s creepy but I would take creepy for a nice new pair of shoes lol.
I don’t know, I don’t really wanna promote this. And you should def make decisions for yourself. But we have to recognize the fact that some people (*cough* Bella Thorne *cough) are making 1 million dollars.. in 24 hours. If that’s not a millionaire side hustle, I don’t know what is.
