This post is all about easy online jobs for college students.
Hey guys, we all know how tough the job game is right now. It feels like no one’s hiring. Or if they are hiring, they expect you to already have tons of experience. (Which is ridiculous.) When you’re in college, how are you supposed to already have years of experience?
And trust me guys, I know all about hard it is trying to manage class with getting a job. You’re supposed to spend all your time studying but then you also have to go to work. It doesn’t make sense and it’s super frustrating. Also a lot of them want you to commute daily and when you barely have money for anything else, that can get real expensive real fast.
But guys it doesn’t have to be this way. There’s actually tons of easy online jobs that you can do completely from your dorm between classes. That’s why I made this list to show you the best flexible easy online jobs for college students to make it easy for you to make that sweet money fast AND not fail all your classes! I hope you find all of these helpful and more!
This post shows you easy online jobs for college students.
Easy Online Jobs For College Students
1. Become a virtual assistant
I won’t lie, I kinda hate the idea of being someone else’s assistant haha. But trust me, this kind isn’t that bad. Instead of picking up people’s coffee or running long errands, you’ll only be doing virtual tasks. Stuff like sorting through documents. Or scheduling a meeting. Yeah it could still be boring but its def easy money.
And this is also super flexible too which is perfect for college students. You can easily do a task between class. Or during your lunch if its something like proofreading. While everyone else is on their phones laughing at random memes, you could be on your laptop making easy money.
Believe it or not, virtual assistants get paid $40 an hour these days! So this is def an easy online job for college students.
Here’s where you can find virtual assistant jobs:
2. Teach foreign kids english
Did you ever like playing school as a kid? If so, then this could be a great easy online job for you. Basically foreign students all over the world these days know they need to speak english to get a heads up in the business world. (But it’s hard to learn English properly when you don’t have anyone to practice with) Their parents will literally pay to make sure they learn it. )
Sites like VIPKid will pay you to get on a virtual call with them and help teach them english. And don’t think its super hard either. You kinda just have to have pretend conversations with them to help them practice speaking the language. Pretty much anyone can do this. And it can also be fun, watching them get better and improve!
Usually they’re not looking for specific majors, but if you’re an English major, this is something nice you could throw on your resume too. (“I taught foreign students how to speak english so I must be good at English haha”). Typically this can pay between 500-1000 a month so def try this!
Here are the best sites to get paid teaching kids english:
3. Tutor other students online
Kinda on that same logic, but if you happen to be really good at a certain subject (like math or history, etc), you can def make money tutoring other students online. Sometimes your school will have their own thing set up that you can apply for and do it that way. But you can also use 3rd party sites like Tutor.com that pay high performing students to help other students study.
Obviously you need to be at least decently good in the subject you’re tutoring about. You can’t have someone thats bad at math tutoring other people on how to multiply haha. But as long as you have decent grades, this is def an easy online job for college students you can turn into some serious cash.
Literally I know people doing this who make $100 a month! And they barely have any tutor sessions.
4. Code websites for people on Fiverr
If you’re a computer science major or you know anything about website design, then you can def do this and start making money today. Basically sites like Fiverr have a bunch of freelance jobs listed with people wanting someone to make their website for them.
They’re looking for anyone with decent skills who can get the job done. No, you don’t have to be a professional. And no, you don’t have to have a degree. If you can do the job, you can do the job. And making websites isn’t that hard either.
You kinda just need to know the basic web development languages like html, css, javascript. This is usually for small businesses or personal tasks, not large companies. They want you to just make a nice site that runs well.
If you think you can do this, you can def charge a nice rate and start making hella money fast. Imagine taking 4 clients a month to do 4 websites. You could make a cool $1000+ a month easily!
5. Become a search engine evaluator
If you love searching google all the time and finding random things like me, then this might be a great easy online job for you. Basically search engine evaluators are people who internet companies hire to train search engines and make them better. You tell the search engine whether the search results they give you are helpful or not.
Sites like Appen and Lionbridge pay people to do this and you don’t have to have any skills to start. You just have to pass their basic quiz (which anyone can do). And then boom, if they have open spots, you’re ready to start making money easy and fast.
I love the tasks they give you cause they’re not hard and the work is really flexible. There’s no clock-in or anything. You just work whenever you have time which is perfect for college students.
Oh, and the typical hourly rate for this is like $9-15 an hour so its legit money! And all you have to is look at search results and say if they’re accurate or not. No reason not to try this.
6. Offer your graphic design skills on Upwork
Shoutout to all my photoshop people out there haha. If you have any type of skill with graphic design, you can def make tons of money fast offering your graphic design skills to people.
With sites like Upwork, you just go on, click on the section for graphic design, and you will see tons of requests from people needing someone to design various things for them. Maybe it’s an illustration for a book. A project design. Literally anything. If you have good drawing skills or decent editing, you could def be what they’re looking for.
Make sure you have a nice portfolio to show so they have examples of stuff you’ve done. (No one wants to hire someone for a task that has no proof of work lol). But this can just be stuff you’ve done on the side for yourself. It doesn’t have to be anything professional which is great.
Honestly anyone can do this and you can def rack up a bunch of clients fast. I know people making $100+ a MONTH from this with just a few clients!
7. Give people rides on Uber
Now this is something you can only do if you have a car. But if you have a car, you can totally make easy money just giving random people rides on Uber.
Obviously this doesn’t have to take tong long. You can choose to just do it when you have extra time in the day. Maybe a quick ride to Starbucks. A quick drive to Target. Honestly stuff you’d be doing anyway on your own. But now you get to get paid for it.
And these days, Uber drivers are making so much easy money. Just to drive people around. (I know people who do this part time and literally make enough to replace their full time job.) Imagine making an extra 1-2 GRAND a month!
8. Deliver people’s food with DoorDash
Again, something you can only do with a car. But if you do have one, you can def make money delivering people’s food to them. We all know how much it sucks to go out and have to drive to get food. I’m super lazy lol. And after a long day I like to just relax.
So it makes sense why tons of people these days are getting their food through DoorDash. DoorDash is basically this app where people can request drivers to deliver food for them. Even from restaurants that don’t do delivery. Uber has their own version too which is called UberEats.
9. Write resumes for people
Chances are if you’re reading this, you’ve spent some time applying for jobs. Everyone knows that the most important thing when applying for jobs is having a good resume. But it can also be super hard trying to write a good resume.
If you do happen to be good at this though, you can def turn this into an easy online job. With sites like WriterBay, you can get paid real money just to help people write resumes. They just tell you what their skills are and you help find a way to put that into a resume that looks good and gets them interviews.
Obviously if you’re not having any luck in the job market, don’t apply for this lol. They want people who know what they’re doing. But def if you’ve had some success getting internships or part time jobs, you can do this on the side as an easy online job and make great money from it! ($50 per resume!)
Here are the best sites to make money writing resumes for people:
10. Make money freelance writing
Do you ever just love writing random long essays about random things? If so you, this might be a great online job for you. With sites like Medium, you can actually get paid real money just to write articles online that people find interesting.
This could be anything too. Maybe you’re super into gaming so you write some posts about that. Or you’re super into fashion so you write a long insightful essay on that. Basically you just need to write something engaging that other people wanna read. Then Medium will pay you money when people view the ads they put on there.
No this won’t make you rich or anything. But if you’re writing essays in college anyway, you might as well get paid for it right lol? Def an easy online job.
11. Translate documents (for bilingual speakers)
Now I don’t happen to speak another language but if you do, this could be a really easy online job for you to make money. Basically sites like Translate.com will pay native bilingual speakers to translate documents for companies. You just need to be able to speak english and another language fluently and boom you can get paid for it.
And this isn’t really hard either. It’s written documents. So you won’t have to be like in a room interpreting between two people back and forth. It’s completely online and just you translating documents when you have time.
Maybe kinda boring but you can def make tons of money doing this. I know people making an extra 500 dollars a month!
Here are the best sites to get paid for this:
12. Become a content creator
Now of course, I had to put this. We’re talking about online jobs right? But seriously you can definitely make easy money (even a whole career) from becoming a content creator online. And there’s all types of content you could make.
Maybe youtube videos. Maybe a blog. Maybe become a streamer on Twitch. So many different ways. The key is really just to make content that other people find entertaining and get value in. You need to be providing something to help people in some way. Then you can monetize from it as well.
And there’s not even really a limit to how much you can get paid from this. There are people making $0 a year and then there’s people making MILLIONS of dollars a year from it. It’s really up to you and how much effort you put into it!
But def if you’re struggling in college and need an easy online job, this could def be the thing for you!
13. Start your own online store
If you love the idea of selling stuff and having your own online store, this could def be a great online job for you. There’s so many different things you could sell online. Shirts, crafts, drawings. Literally anything.
Say you wanna sell your old clothes. Cool. Start your own store on Poshmark. Got some cool crafts to sell? Make your own Etsy store. Have a bunch of junk? Resell on eBay. Or if you grew up wanting to start your own clothing line, you could try selling custom t-shirt designs with Teespring.
Really the possibilities are endless here cause like I said, you could pretty much sell anything. Even start your own mini Amazon store. Sure this may take some upfront effort but you can’t deny this is an online job that could make you tons of money.
14. Become a self-published e-book writer
If you love making up stories (and I’m not talking about telling lies), then you can def turn that into an online job writing your own ebooks.
We all know Kindle. It’s an online store that lets you buy ebooks on Amazon. But they actually let people self publish their own books on there as well.
And yeah writing a book sounds hard. But you don’t have to be the next J.K.Rowling to make money. Just write something interesting that you yourself wanna read. Even just a short story series with cliff hangers so people get hooked. Come up with a catchy title.
Then boom, as you get sells, you can start making an extra 15, 20, 200 dollars a month just from people buying your book!
Obviously no guarantees here but def still worth a try. And you can do this anytime in college.
15. Sell your class notes (study soup)
As long as you’re not one of those people who skips class all the time so you’re not even there to take notes (no shade lol), then you can def turn this into an easy online job.
Basically sites like Study Soup will pay students real money to go to lectures and take good quality notes that they then share online for other people. It sounds kinda crazy but professors talk too fast and they need these notes for students with learning disabilities or just people who don’t pay attention in class. Plus we all know how valuable the notes are when exam time comes around.
Your school might even offer this as an official job too. Mine did and I was lowkey gonna apply for it til the pandemic hit and no one went to class anyway lol.
And this is good money too. Imagine an extra 300 dollars a month. Just to take notes in biology lol. (Wish my parents incentivized me like that as a kid)
16. Transcribe unclear audio
You know those videos with unclear audio where you can barely understand what they’re saying? Ugh, it’s the worst. And it’s even worse when they don’t have subtitles. But if you happen to have super hearing and *can* understand what they’re saying (at least try), then you can def make some money transcribing it into a script (with sites like Rev).
Basically, Rev is this site that gives you a list of unclear audio files. Mostly people with accents or bad quality mics so its impossible to hear what they’re saying. And then your job is just to listen really closely and then write out word by word what it is they’re saying. That way they can make accurate subtitles easy and fast. (They gotta pay someone to do it right lol)
No, it’s not the funnest job ever. Who wants to sit there and listen to horrible chopped audio? But you have to admit it’s really easy when you think about it to just sit there at your desk, type out whatever it is they’re saying, and make easy money from it. (No commute, no nothing.)
No, you’re not gonna become a millionaire from this but if you have extra time, you can make $300 a month doing this which is not bad!
17. Become a website app tester
I’m someone who loves trying out new websites. And I’m always trying out new apps. Yeah, you can doing this for free OR you can make money from doing it and giving your opinion on it. Yep, with sites like UserTesting, you basically get paid just to try out different new websites and then give the companies that made it your opinion on it.
They pay people to do this cause they obviously need to know how to make their sites better. And what better way than to hear from real people and their real opinions. And don’t feel pressure to be super nice. They want to hear what they can fix so they can make it better.
Basically you just go on there, accept a request, and then record yourself trying it out for 15 minutes. Say your opinions and boom, once received, you’ll get paid an easy 15 dollars per review. Talk about an easy online job lol.
No you won’t become rich from this. But even if just you do a few of these a day between classes, that’s more than most part time jobs!
18. Become a social media manager
If you’re on your phone all the time scrolling through Instagram or taking selfies, this is def something you could do. And no you don’t have to be a professional.
There are tons of business people out there who know they need to have a social media presence but they’re too busy to update their profiles. So they’re willing to pay people to act as their “social media managers” to handle all that for them and run their accounts. Of course, this is a super easy job and it’d also be great to put on your resume.
You can def just do this from your dorm. Editing a few selfies they send you, writing some fake tweets, giving them a bomb new profile pic lol. Make them look cool on social media and you can be making $600 dollars a month flat!
Here are the best places to find these jobs:
19. Become an online proofreader
Honestly if you’re in college this is something you do anyway. Think about how many essays you write. Research papers. Unless you’re fine with turning in crappy work, you have to be good at proofreading. Sure you could keep doing this for free OR you could turn it into an easy online job and make some money from it!
Basically with sites like Fiverr you can get paid to proofread other people’s papers and documents. It’s honestly not hard. Just correct their grammar. Fix their spelling. Fix all their little errors. Sounds annoying but this is your chance to get paid to be a grammar nazi lol.
But I will say they tend to want people who get certified. And getting certified isn’t hard. Just complete a 600 hour course and take a simple test. Typical online proofreader salaries are $25-$50/hr so totally worth it in my opinion!
Here are the best sites to find online proofreader jobs:
20. Get a virtual internship
If you wanna get a high paying job once you graduate, there’s no way around it. You’re gonna have to get some experience. And the best way to get experience without actually having a job yet is an internship. There’s all types of internships (paid, non-paid, etc) but most people don’t know that you can actually do virtual internships as well.
Virtual internships are great cause they give you all the awesome benefits of having internship but you get to do it all virtually. No hassle trying to fit in between classes. No traveling to a whole different city for a few hours a day. It can all be done online!
And there are lot of these virtual internships you can find that will also pay you to do them if you get accepted. Again, I highly recommend if you’re in college to give virtual internships a try.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are online jobs?
Online jobs are basically an amazing way to make money that allows you to work from home. You typically don’t have to show up for work to an actual office. You just do your tasks and handle your business completely online.
Of course, there’s all different types of online jobs. There’s online freelance jobs which are basically where you set your own hours and accept various work assignments. People love this kind of online job cause you’re not tied to a schedule and you really get to have control over what you do.
And then there’s more traditional online jobs where it’s an actual company you work for. They just happen to offer completely remote online positions. These kinds of online jobs are great cause you get all the benefits of a normal job (security, health benefits, etc). But none of the bad stuff! (Like a long boring commute.)
Why should college students get an online job?
You should get an online job because it will make it so much easier for you to make money while still having time to study for class. Online jobs are so convenient which is great if you have a busy class schedule.
Imagine literally finishing class and “going to work” by just opening up your laptop and doing a few quick tasks. So much better than getting in the car for 30 minute commute outside of campus.
How hard is it to get an online job?
It’s really not that hard to get an online job. Like I said earlier, you really just need to search for it and you’ll see lots of them out there. You don’t have to have special skills or have tons of experience to get an online job either.
And with events like the pandemic, there’s a lot less stigma around getting an online job just in general anyway. Employers just wanna know you’re qualified. And if you can show them that, you’re pretty much guaranteed some success.
It can also be a lot of easier to get an online job than a regular in-person job because typically you don’t have to do a normal interview or give formal references etc. There tends to be a lower barrier to entry but that also depends on which online job you do.
How to find easy online jobs for college students?
Finding easy online jobs for college students really isn’t that hard. You can look through posts like this to get ideas or you can also go on job board sites like Indeed. And then just put search term categories like “no experience”, “recent graduate”, and “remote”.
This will typically show you a list of local jobs where they’re actively hiring people who don’t have a lot of experience and people who just wanna work from home. Both of which are great for college students.
Besides looking for online jobs though, you can also go through your school’s career website and you’ll probably see a lot of semi-virtual jobs that your school is actually offering themselves. Especially these days with the pandemic.
How much do easy online jobs for college students pay?
Honestly this can depend. Mostly on what it is that you’re doing for the online job. I gave you a bunch of examples above so there’s a huge range.
For ones like coding websites for people, that will pay a lot per client. But then you can have others like self-publishing an ebook where there’s no guarantees and it just depends on how well the book does.
Overall, I would say you could def make decent money. More than most normal part-time jobs if you’re determined.
